An angered\u003cbr\u003e\nMahadev instructs Shiva to wipe the Sindoor from Vidya's forehead, make her\u003cbr\u003e\nlive the life of a widow, and not permit her to re-locate to her husband until\u003cbr\u003e\nhe avenges this humiliation. Vidya is thus imprisoned in her home but shortly\u003cbr\u003e\nthereafter manages to convince her dad and Shiva to let her return to Bombay\u003cbr\u003e\nwhere she can continue to study and find a job. Shiva seeks Mahadev's\u003cbr\u003e\npermission and as a result Vidya is permitted to leave Amarpur, leaving her\u003cbr\u003e\nfamily as virtual hostages just in case she decides to join her groom in\u003cbr\u003e\nAmarpur. During the train journey she has company of three males and two\u003cbr\u003e\nfemale students and finds that one male student is interested in her. After\u003cbr\u003e\nher arrival in Bombay, she meets with the young man again, an Engineering\u003cbr\u003e\nstudent in the same college, and is afraid he is stalking her, so she returns\u003cbr\u003e\nhome to Amarpur.
