An immensely popular herb around the globe, fresh basil is perfect for use in




any number of recipes including pesto, pasta and soups. But sometimes fresh




basil is hard to find and our basil paste is the next best thing! Made with




just pureed basil, salt and citric acid by Belmont, our Peruvian basil paste




is a convenient, easy substitution for fresh basil. Although it's intended for




use in a batch of freshly made pesto, basil paste is also wonderful tossed




with pasta, mixed with mayonnaise as a sandwich spread or swirled into salad




dressing. Mixed with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, basil paste can




be drizzled over just about any dish. We like to serve it as a sauce with our




favorite soft cheese and fresh sliced tomatoes.
