An old widow (Meena Kumari) moves to the city, persuaded by her nephew (Ramesh
Deo) to come and live with his family. She soon discovers that what they
wanted was a useful maidservant. Grief-stricken, she leaves. She becomes a
beacon of love to a gang of restless young men, who are wasting their lives on
the streets. Two rival gang-leaders (Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha) are
brought back to order, ethics and family by her wholesome advice.
